One day we went to the humane society to look at some dogs. Me being terrified of dogs this would be a trip I would never forget. There was this one dog I saw that looked so innocent and kind. Dad said if I held the dog we could bring him home but he never expected that would happen being my fear of dogs was so strong. I was beginning to overcome my fear and wanted to hold this dog without any thought in my mind what I was getting ready to do. I held him and fell in love right away. The lady at the humane society said that if we did not take him he was getting ready to be put to sleep because of so many animals in their facility. I wanted to bring him home. After some careful consideration from mom and dad we got to bring him home. Dad named him Duke and oh the fun times there were to come. The coming years would be some of the best times with Duke but as I grew older I started to abandon him and proceed with my own life. To this day I will never forget how Duke changed my life and put my fears of dogs in the past.
